Certification Overview

The Fortinet® Network Security Expert (NSE) is an eight-level certification program designed for technical professionals interested in independent validation of their network security skills and experience. The program includes a wide range of self-paced and instructor-led courses, as well as practical, experiential exercises that demonstrate mastery of complex network security concepts.

The NSE Program enables participants to make the most of the power of Fortinet’s network security platform and be recognized in the industry among an elite group of security professionals.

As companies around the world continue to invest in their security infrastructures, they look for ways to verify the knowledge and skills of their network security staff. In response, Fortinet® offers an 8-level certification program designed for technical professionals to validate their network security skills and experience with Fortinet products and services, namely;

NSE 1 – Developa foundational understanding of the Threat Landscape and perspectives from key executive roles. Also learn how individuals can be safer on the Internet with Personal Security Awareness.

NSE 2 – Develop the knowledge about Fortinet® Security Fabric solutions required to address the threat landscape and security concerns discussed in NSE 1.

NSE 3 – Develop the skills to describe how the features of key Fortinet® products are used to create the solutions discussed in the NSE 2.

NSE 4 – Develop the knowledge to manage the day-to-day configuration, monitoring, and operation of FortiGate devices to support corporate network security policies.

NSE 5 – Develop a detailed understanding of how to implement network security management and analytics.

NSE 6 – Develop an understanding of the fabric products that augment FortiGate to provide deeper and more comprehensive network security.

NSE 7 – Develop the knowledge to integrate Fortinet® products to deploy and administer network security solutions.

NSE 8 – Demonstrate the ability to design, configure, install, and troubleshoot a comprehensive network security solution in a live environment.

Appointments are made at least two working days in advance, subject to availability.

Scheduling steps;

  • Contact the exams department (nancy@computer-pride.co.ke | esther@computer-pride.co.ke)
  • Make payment either via bank or Mpesa (We don’t accept cash)
  • Fill the exam form and submit it to the exams department.
  • Pick your receipt.

You are advised to bring at least 2 forms of acceptable ID each time you report to our exam center. With few exceptions, ID documents must meet all the following requirements:

  • be government issued.
  • be an original document; photocopied documents are not acceptable
  • be valid; expired documents (bearing expiration dates that have passed) are not acceptable
  • include the test taker’s full name matching exactly the name used to register
  • include a recent photograph that clearly matches the test taker
  • include the test taker’s signature

If you do not bring valid and acceptable identification, or if the name on your ID does not exactly match the name on your registration, you will not be permitted to test, and you will forfeit your exam fee as its not refundable.

Personal Belongings

You will not be allowed to take any personal items with you into the testing room. This includes all bags, books or other materials not authorized for this exam, notes, phones, pagers, watches and wallets. You will, however, be provided a locker where you can keep your personal items. It is important that all electronic items, such as cellphones should be turned OFF.
