  • Word Processing Using Microsoft Office Word – covers the main concepts and skills needed for common word processing tasks, such as creating, formatting, and finishing letters and other everyday documents.
  • Spreadsheet Using Microsoft Office Excel – covers the main concepts and skills needed to use spreadsheets, such as tasks associated with developing, formatting, modifying, and using a spreadsheet.
  • Online Essentials – sets out essential concepts and skills relating to web browsing, effective information search, online communication, and e-mail.
  • Online Collaboration – covers the main concepts and skills needed to collaborate online using web-based tools and services.
  • IT Security – covers the main skills and knowledge needed for the secure use of ICT in everyday settings, at home and at work.
  • Presentation Using Microsoft Office PowerPoint – covers the main concepts and skills needed to work with presentation software to create and use presentations.

  • These modules are designed to build the critical digital skills of the modern workplace, the base and intermediate modules are a tiered programme that will help employees with effective use of technology.
  • It starts with the Essential Skills modules that are important for many other ICDL programmes. The Office Applications modules develop skills that are commonly used in working life. Complementing these skills are the Good Practice modules, which ensure safe, legal and productive use of technology in the workplace.
