PMP Eligibility Requirements
PMI sets eligibility before you can apply to sit the exam. There are two pathways:
With a four-year degree:
- 36 months leading projects within the last eight years
- 35 contact hours of formal project management education
With a diploma, secondary certificate or associate degree:
- 60 months leading projects within the last eight years
- 35 contact hours of formal project management education
Holding an active CAPM certification satisfies the 35 contact hour requirement.

PMI audits a proportion of applications at random. We help you document your project experience in the format PMI expects, which is where most first-time applicants struggle.
What the PMP Exam Covers
The exam tests three domains across predictive, agile, and hybrid delivery approaches based on the latest PMI Examination Content Outline:
- Process (41%)
- People (33%)
- Business Environment (26%)
The exam is 180 questions over 230 minutes, including two scheduled 10-minute breaks. Question formats include multiple choice, multiple response, matching, hotspot and fill-in-the-blank. It is scenario-based throughout — you are asked what you would do in a situation rather than to recall definitions, which is why exam-style practice matters more than memorisation.

Sitting Your PMP Exam in Kenya
The PMP exam is delivered through Pearson VUE. Computer Pride operates an authorized Pearson VUE testing centre in Nairobi (1st Floor, ICEA Building, Kenyatta Avenue), so you can train and sit your exam in the same place rather than arranging a separate test venue. Online proctored delivery is also available through PMI if you prefer to test from home.
